How Ovi's model usage is paid for with Swop Credits, and who can use it.
Every time Ovi thinks (reads a market, answers a message, plans a trade) it uses an AI model, and models cost money per use. Ovi passes that cost through as Swop Credits, a usage balance in the Swop app funded with SWOP.
How usage is priced

Usage is metered per model call from the provider's actual cost and deducted from your credit balance. Swop's backend credit ledger is the record of truth, and the app shows your balance and usage.
Who can use Ovi
Talking to your agent requires AI access: an active Swop Premium subscription, or holding at least 1,000 SWOP where that unlock is offered. Without it, messaging returns 403 with code: "UPGRADE_REQUIRED"; reading your agent's settings still works.
Swop Premium is $8.99 a month or $59.99 a year.
Models
Ovi can run on managed models from several providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Meta's Llama and xAI) and on models Swop runs on its own hardware. It doesn't silently fall back to a more expensive model.
Not an investment
Swop Credits pay for AI usage. They aren't a deposit, don't earn anything, and aren't a way to buy or hold SWOP.
